On Sunday 19 June at Our Lady and St Patrick’s church, we were particularly blessed as a parish to have these 14 children come forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time.

It was fantastic to see them all, the church was full to the brim with families, friends and of course the regular parish community, (not to mention those unsuspecting visitors who may have found more than they bargained for!). After the Mass the children enjoyed a special breakfast to mark the event, and people stayed on to socialise in the church and the garden.

A special thank you too, to Belinda, Carole and Kim their catechists, who put time, care and commitment into preparing the children for this special day, and of course Sarah Barreto, headteacher at OLSP our parish school.
